PM instructs security officials, administrators to work with high morale

Prime Minister Girija Prasad Koirala has instructed the regional chiefs of security agencies in the eastern region to work with high morale for proving security during the constituent assembly election process.

During his meeting with the heads of the Nepal Army, Nepal Police and Armed Police Force of eastern region, regional and chief district officers of Monang and Sunsari at his residence in Biratnagar in the morning, Koirala said the security forces and the administration need to make vigorous efforts to tackle with the disorder in Terai in order to create environment for the polls.

The officials had asked the PM to increase budget for security and administrative works to make better arrangements for the polls. They also expressed grave concern over the poor security arrangement in Terai.

The administrators on the occasion had raised the issue of recent floods and tough conditions of the flood victims, who are looking towards the government for support.

The Prime Minister arrived in Biratnagar on Friday on a personal visit, which the family sources say is for rest.
